Jerry Jones Threatens To Sue Goodell, UCLA Players On Bail
FOOTBALL
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones threatened to sue the NFL if Commissioner Roger Goodell is granted an extension on his contract after the 2018 season. According to Outside the Lines, Jerry Jones is one of  “four or five owners” who think Goodell should step down. Jones hired NY lawyer David Boies to look into how the NFL has been economically affected by the decisions Goodell has made regarding player discipline, punishments and the National Anthem controversy. Since he was elected Commissioner in 2006, Goodell has made more than $200 million. It’s unclear how many owners are in Jones’ camp and whether it’s enough to oust Goodell.

In a follow up to the arrest of the UCLA players who allegedly shoplifted a pair of sunglasses from Louis Vuitton in China, specialists in Chinese law believe the players will likely not serve jail time. According to reports, LiAngelo Ball, Jalen Hill, and Cody Riley have been released on bail (and confined to their hotel). The Chinese legal system does not normally include bail, so many think this is a good sign the players won’t be sent to jail for 3-10 years (as was reported by Yahoo sports). It’s also considered good timing for the players that President Trump is currently in China meeting with President Xi Jinping.
